Dear All

We are pleased to invite you to the launch of the second issue of our independent architecture publication called ‘Dear…’  The launch will take place June 21, 2012 between 17.00–21.00 at Nikolaj Kunsthal’s book shop (Nikolaj Plads 10, 1067 København K). The event will also host an installation by artist Asbjørn Skou.

The idea for Dear… began in 2010; created by a collective desiring to reveal critical, propositional, personal and imaginative thoughts on the relationships between people and the built environment. The publication is a setting for a diversity of discussions, processes, challenges, and resolutions that arise via thoughtful engagements with everyday life in the built environment. Concisely stated, Dear…probes how spatial practitioners with social and ethical commitments reflect upon – and within – their praxes.

In this issue, fourteen international contributions address both universal and particular questions and issues arising out of speculations upon the wider thematic of Dead End(s). Through their diverse array of works, one encounters and explores Dead End(s) as – amongst other things – expressions of cessation and closure, changes in direction and momentum, as well as instigations and openings. This issue interweaves spatial projects and theoretical reflections, addressing and embodying the theme’s double entendre.

We hope that you will stop by and celebrate the contributors’ stellar efforts with us, have a browse of the latest issue, and enjoy the nice energy of the June solstice and summer on the whole.

With best regards,
The Editorial Team
Johan Carlsson, Courtney Coyne Jensen,
Heidi Svenningsen Kajita and Masashi Kajita
